In Loving Memory, Grace Marie (Henry) Moore “He Restoreth My Sole”, Psalms 23:3 Grace Marie (Henry) Moore lived a life defined by unwavering faith and profound kindness, reflecting her name in scripture: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of your selves: it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). Her steadfast trust in the Lord guided her every step, a dedication she poured into leading weekly Bible study classes for a close circle of friends for over two decades. Gifted at crafts, she expressed her warmth and creativity through quilting, stitching love into every pattern and generously sharing her skills with close friends and family around her. Born in Ashland, KY, September 27, 1943, to father, Homer Henry, and mother, Cathrine (Bayless) Darby, she was raised by her beloved mother and stepfather, James “Darb” Darby, who all preceded her in death. She was widowed by late husband, Wiiliam “Bill” Moore and preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Staci Louise Childers and son, Stephen “Steve” Wayne Childers. Her light and ever-giving heart will be remembered by her surviving son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Angela (Borders) Childers and granddaughters Sarah (Hall) Albrecht and her husband Devon, Emily (Hall) Powell and her husband Ian, and Shelby (Hall) Cox and her husband Cody. Her heart and ability to love was so vast and amazing, she was given by God, a second family to cherish, Matt and Jackie (Wylie) Martin and daughters Miranda and Mikayla Martin who cared and loved Grace (Mam) and her later husband, Bill (Papaw) as dearly as one can love another. Survived by her loving sisters, Patricia (Don) Fisher of Lexington, KY, Jenny McDowell of Ashland, KY, Lou Catherine (Randy) Summers of South Carolina and David (Amy) Darby of Ashland, KY. She was preceded in death by her cherished sister, Nancy Sue (Larry Michael) Waugh of Franklin, TN and brother Sherman (Marilyn “Pinky”) Henry of Ashland, KY. Family and friends are invited to a visitation and service, officiated by Chaplain Jimm Smedley, from Noon to service time beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Miller Funeral Home, 1941 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101.
