Doris Lee Wellman

Doris Lee Wellman, 85, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Baptist Health in Lexington. She was born May 24, 1933 in Rush, KY the daughter of the late John and Lillie Arizona Henson Waugh. She was a faithful and loyal member of the Meade Station Church of God for over 68 years, a graduate of Ashland Community College with an Associate Degree and was a physical fitness instructor at local nursing homes and the YMCA. She was an accomplished seamstress and co- owner of Wellman’s Upholstery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Beecher Wellman Jr; one brother, John Waugh and four sisters, Bertha Stephenson, Georgene Wormsley, Beulah Waugh and Bessie Porter. Survivors include two daughters, Victoria Wellman (Kenneth) Davis of Nicholasville, KY and Sandra Lee Wellman (Rick) Clevinger of LaGrange, KY, two sons, Roger Darrell (Mary Susan) Wellman and Timothy Wayne (Zedtta) Wellman both of Nicholasville, KY, one brother, Donald Jack (Connie) Waugh of Richmond, KY; two brother in laws, Carl Stephenson of Los Angeles, CA and Paul Wormsley of Lorraine, OH. Eleven grandchildren, Ashley Rae Wellman (Dennis) Renton, Sarah Suzanna Wellman (Reagan) Combs, Roger Darrell “Kip” (Allison) Wellman, Jr., Jennifer Paige Meenach (Eric) Wright, Emely Lauren Clevinger (Stephen) Sanders, Timothy Wayne “T.W.” (Allison) Wellman, Jr., Kelley Shea Meenach (Matt) Shudes, Sidney Clay Clevinger, Jacqueline Liane Meenach (Brandon) Benson, Rebekah Elizabeth Clevinger (Patrick) Perryman and Haley Marie Wellman, sixteen great grandchildren, Mason Stephen Sanders, Katelin Rae Renton, Breckin Michael Renton, Logan Kambel Sanders, Parker Alan Wright, Cooper Wellman Combs, Aiden Matthew Wright, Lillianna Elisabeth Sanders, Elliott Kate Combs, Saylor Elizabeth Wellman, Emerson Forrest Wright, Elizabeth Shea Shudes, Norah Lee Perryman, Sawyer Matthew Sanders, Price Henry Wellman and Olivia Katherine Shudes, and several nieces and nephews including, Julian (Greta) Hall of Ashland. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Meade Station Church of God by Pastor Robert Jordan and Pastor Chris Murphy. Burial will follow at Thompson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM Wednesday at the church. Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
