Chuck And Kathy Rye

Chuck and Kathy Rye were married September 12, 1998 and lovingly renewed their vows on October 3, 2008, they passed a day and a half apart, and they were reunited in Heaven on May 6, 2026. For 30 years they built a life, sharing time together watching UK basketball, riding motorcycles, fishing, coin collecting, kicking back playing Yahtzee and watching a good western, but enjoyed most of all spending time with their family. The love they shared was as eternal as their devotion to each other. Charles Wayne "Chuck" Rye passed Monday, May 4, 2026. Born March 26, 1951, in Ashland, Kentucky, he was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Marcella Anders Rye, and an infant brother, Gary Martin Rye. Chuck served his country with honor as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. By trade, he was an electrician with the IBEW Local 379 as well as a Teamster with Local 307. A retired member of the Bear Creek Bandits Motorcycle Club, he was known to his brothers as "Bullet". Chuck was a larger-than-life man who lit up every room he entered with his humor and playful spirit. Kathy Elaine Hutchinson Rye passed Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Born June 12, 1961, in Ashland, Kentucky, she was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur C. and Wanda Hutchinson. Kathy had a kind, loving heart, and she often donated time aiding local food pantries, and was a member of House of Grace. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters, family cookouts, and collecting porcelain dolls. Those left to cherish their memory include Chuck's daughter, Tywanah Fitz (Larry) of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Jacob and Ryan Fitz; his brothers, Shawn Rye and Charlie A. Rye; her brother, Kevin Hutchinson; his sisters, Gretchen Layman and Leilani Burchett; her sisters, Connie Miklos (Joe), Kelly Fannin (Matt), and Carolyn Ross; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many special friends. A joint funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, with military rites conducted by Ceredo/Kenova American Legion Post #93.
