Kenneth Ray Sloas Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kenneth R. Sloas, 49, of Catlettsburg died Sunday November 8, 2015 at his residence. He was born November 29, 1965 in Louisa, KY the son of Mary Sue Gallion French of Grayson, KY and Estill Sloas, Jr. of Catlettsburg, KY. He was a laborer for the Local Union #1445. He was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Ray Sloas and step-mother, Judy Sloas. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his lifelong partner, Virginia “Jenny” Groves of Catlettsburg; two sisters, Sandra Groves-Boyd of Grayson, KY and Stephanie Cordle of Ashland; two brothers, David French of Greenup, KY and Mitchell French of Portland, OR; step-father, James French of Grayson, KY; step daughter, Jeannie Layne of Ashland; step–brother, Everett “Buddy” Stapleton of Ashland; two grandchildren, Brentton Adkins and Brayden Worsley; a very special niece, Leandra Gollihue; and a very special nephew who prayed for him everyday, Brandon Groves. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Friday November 13, 2015 at Vineyard Church of God, 5701 Catletts Creek, Catlettsburg, KY 41129 with Pastor David Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery on Johnson’s Fork in Catlettsburg, KY. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until service time Friday at the church. Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
