Bob L. Stevens Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bob L. Stevens Sr. 77 of Boyd County, died Tuesday September 22, 2015 at the Community Hospice Care Center, after an extended illness. He was born March 21, 1938 in Ashland, KY the son of the late Brady C. and Maudie Edwards Stevens. In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by a brother, Brady Jr., two sisters Betty Cordle and JoAnn Mullins, son John Stevens, daughter in law Janita Stevens, grandson Nicholas Stevens and great grandson Aayden Wade. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Hart Stevens, a sister Maxine Whitt of Flatwoods, KY. Three sons; Bob L. Stevens Jr. (Debbie) of Catlettsburg, KY, Christopher L. Stevens (Susan) of Catlettsburg, KY and Mark R. Stevens (Ruth) of Ashland , KY, 13 grandchildren; Bobbie Stevens, Taylor Stevens, Justin (Holly) Griffith, Christy (Chris) Williams, Barbie (David) Wade, Brittani Cornwell, Bree Cornwell, Ruthie (Chad) Korros, Sara Stevens, Brandon Stevens, Jonda (Jason) Skaggs, Rebecca Stevens and Johnny Stevens, 12 great grandchildren; Evan Williams, Cash Williams, Wade Griffith, Parker Griffith, Jason Brown, David Brown, Kaylee Korros, Hayden Korros, Austyn Skaggs, Sadie Skaggs, Gabe Skaggs and Blaine Skaggs. Bob also leaves behind many brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews and true friends. Bob was an auto mechanic by trade and the former owner of Bob’s Garage and Auto Repair in Catlettsburg. He was an old school hot rodder back in his day and was truly a jack of all trades. He enjoyed camping, carpentry and spending time with his children, grandchildren and helping them with their or his many projects. He was a Christian and a member of Moore Street Tabernacle in Ashland. He enjoyed the visits and time that he got to spend with his church family. He also loved telling others about his experience with Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday September 26, 2015 at Miller Funeral Home by Rev. Danny Pancake officiating. Burial will follow at Hutchinson Cemetery, Route 5, Ashland KY. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to Community Hospice 1480 Carter Ave. Ashland KY, which is a comfort to all who need to spend time there.
